What it is

Compounded GLP-1 products are versions of semaglutide or tirzepatide made by compounding pharmacies rather than the original manufacturer. They became widespread during the global shortage, when regulators permitted compounding to fill a gap that branded supply could not.

This entry is about the product, not the molecule. Semaglutide and tirzepatide have their own entries and excellent evidence. The open question here is whether what's in the vial matches what's on the label.
